It’s Super Bowl Sunday, folks! The one day of the year when we all pretend to care about football, even if we can’t name a single player on either team (unless, of course, your team is the Detroit Lions, in which case you’re still crying into your Honolulu blue and silver-lined participation trophy). I, unlike the mayor of Philly, can actually spell “Eagles,” so, you know, I’ve got that going for me.

Today is a sacred day. A day of gathering. A day where we descend upon the homes of neighbours we barely know, brought together by the promise of excessive snacking and questionable dip recipes. Let’s be honest, by the end of the second quarter, we’re all just there for the commercials and the potential for a wardrobe malfunction during the halftime show.
Speaking of the halftime show… Kendrick Lamar is taking the stage! What kind of lyrical fire will he unleash? Will Drake make a surprise appearance and reignite their feud… or perhaps share a tender, post-beef hug? The suspense is thicker than the seven-layer dip in my fridge.
And speaking of spectacle, word has it that some very high-profile individuals are in attendance. Swifties and MAGAs are on the edge of their seats. Maybe they will finally meet and… discuss the finer points of… um… football strategy? Yeah, let’s go with that.
Now, some say this game is a “replay” of Super Bowl LVII. Apparently, these two teams met before, and Kansas City emerged victorious. Is this their chance for a three-peat? Honestly, at this point, I’m more invested in seeing some truly bizarre referee calls. The zebras are the real MVPs of this game, and I’m not just talking about their fashion sense. The impact of their calls will be discussed and debated for days.

The real Super Bowl MVP, though, is whoever invented the crock-pot. Because let’s face it, without the sheer volume of dips, chili, and little smokies, this whole thing would fall apart faster than a politician’s promise.
And let’s not forget the Monday after the Super Bowl – one of the biggest “sick days” of the year. I’ll be at work, bleary-eyed and fueled by leftover guacamole. I may even have to fake a cough or two. Don’t judge me. You’ll be doing the same.

So, who am I rooting for? Well, I’d like to see the Eagles… uh… soar? Yeah, let’s go with soar. Go Eagles! Now, if you’ll excuse me, I hear the chips calling my name. Enjoy the game, everyone, and may your dip bowl never be empty!
