I Promise I Haven’t Forgotten About You! 😄

If you’ve been checking back here wondering if I’ve disappeared… don’t worry, I haven’t. It’s just that life has gone from “busy” to “where did the last five weeks go?” 😆

Between my full-time life at Heritage Roofing and jumping into a municipal election campaign, the days have been flying by. By the time I get home, answer campaign messages, draft campaign page posts, attend meetings, or prepare for the next event, it’s usually time to do it all over again.

No complaints though… I’m absolutely loving every minute of it.

Since my last blog post back on June 16th, it’s been a whirlwind.

I’ve had the opportunity to attend community events, meet residents and business owners throughout Ward 1, answer lots of great questions, participate in candidate events, and spend countless hours simply listening. That’s honestly been one of the best parts of this campaign. Every conversation helps me better understand what’s important to our communities and reminds me why I decided to put my name on the ballot in the first place. Oh, and I can’t forget about helping out at the Merlin Legion’s Annual Vintage Car, Truck, Motorcycle & Tractor Show… that was awesome!

The support has honestly been incredible.

Whether it’s someone stopping me in the grocery store to wish me luck, a friendly wave while I’m putting up a sign, a message on social media, or friends, family and residents sharing my posts with their friends and family—it all means more than you know.

Campaigns aren’t won by one person. They’re built by an entire community, and I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who’s come along for the ride so far.

The campaign itself has been going really well. I’ve been sharing my thoughts on everything from infrastructure and taxes to agriculture, economic development, accountability, and making sure every community in Ward 1 knows that they will have a strong voice at the council table when they elect me on October 26th.

And believe it or not…

We still have about three months until Election Day!

That means there are still plenty of opportunities to meet residents, attend community events, distribute door knockers and post cards, answer questions, and continue building momentum. The campaign is really just getting started.

If you haven’t already, I’d love for you to follow my campaign on Facebook. That’s where you’ll find the latest updates, videos, event information, campaign announcements, and probably the occasional bad joke.

Even better…
Give the page a Like, Follow, and if you see something you think others should hear, share it. Every share helps me reach another resident, and in a municipal election, those connections really do make a difference.

As for this blog… I’ll be honest.
You probably won’t see me posting here quite as often over the next few months. Between work and campaigning, free time has become something I vaguely remember from years ago. 😂

I’ll still pop in whenever I can because I enjoy writing and keeping everyone updated, but for the next little while my focus is exactly where it should be—meeting residents, listening to your ideas, and earning your trust to represent Ward 1 on Chatham-Kent Council.

Thank you to everyone who’s been following along, reading my blog, and cheering me on.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I hear another campaign task calling my name…

See you out in the community!

– Michael
