Happy Victoria Day long weekend, everyone!
Today marks the annual pilgrimage where we bravely pack the minivan to the ceiling and head into the woods. We all know the ritual: we’re collectively holding our breath, praying to the weather gods that it won’t be freezing and more importantly that we don’t get soaked. Because let’s face it, it wouldn’t be a Victoria Day weekend without at least one “refreshing” downpour, right?
Whether you’re out there testing the waterproof rating of your tent or you’re the “Home Warrior” spending the weekend bonding with your pressure washer and building that legendary new deck, this weekend is all about that summer vibe (even if the thermometer hasn’t quite caught up yet).
For those of you opting for the “Professional Relaxation” route, firing up the BBQ, chilling the drinks, and hosting the neighbors. I salute you.
My wife and I will be at the trailer, likely losing a board game or two, sharing stories, and laughing until our sides ache with our camp neighbours. There might even be a beverage involved (*wink*wink). It’s all about hitting that “reset” button and forgetting about the daily work grind for a few days.
A massive shout-out to those who are working through the weekend to keep things running—we truly appreciate you!
